Marlene’s Gang proudly support “Dogs for Good (Previously Dogs for the Disabled)” as our chosen charity. It was through Leila’s work with Daytrippers Children’s Charity; Supporting young disabled people throughout the UK, that she came across the amazing difference that “Dogs for Good (Previously Dogs for the Disabled)” make in people’s lives.
Dogs for Good is a pioneering charity that trains assistance dogs for children and adults with physical disabilities, and families with a child with autism. Through practical tasks their dogs offer freedom and independence, but in addition an assistance dog becomes a reason to go out, giving a new found confidence that opens doors to fresh opportunities including friendships, hobbies, education and even careers. The partnerships they create between people with disabilities and dogs are life-changing.
Marlene’s Gang member Giles is our first member who has been trained by this amazing charity. He assists his owner, Natasha, so that she can lead her life to its fullest. Natasha is a immensely active teenager with keen aspirations in sport, however her disability provides daily challenges, which Giles can help with, as well as being a close friend to her.
We will be donating 4% of all sales to help support the work of “Dogs for Good” so that they can continue growing and doing life changing work. Hopefully as Marlene’s Gang grows, this donation will also be able to grow and make a huge difference.
